FIFA Penalized – The Justice Department in the USA has found that soccer bodies are entitled to over $200 Million from cash forfeited with FIFA Penalized because of corrupt individuals in the Soccer Organisation. In a bizarre twist FIFA themselves would be able to claim being a victim of the crime of their representatives.
The World Football Remission Fund, overseen by the FIFA Charity Foundation has already been awarded $32.2million. This fund supports projects in schools, charities, disaster relief and soccer development camps.
FIFA Penalized
Some of the sinners include Brazillian Jose Hawilla who is since deceased, having $150 million seized from his estate. More than 50 individuals and corporations have now been charged and the funds embezzled were used for bribes, kickbacks, sponsorship deals and more.
The complex trial has been played out in Brooklyn federal court for many years now with former CONMEBOL president Juan Angel Napout and Jose Maria Marin, a Brazilian who led the 2014 World Cup organizing committee, convicted in Brooklyn in 2017.
Many of the conspirators have avoided justice by remaining in Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago avoiding extradition.
