On 10/8/2021, Messi signed a two-year deal plus an optional year to join a star-studded team lead by Neymar Jr. This comes after he bid a tearful farewell to the FC Barcelona fraternity. Many sports fans are still in awe, wondering how his former club will survive without his services.

2. FLOYD MAYWEATHER FIGHTS YOUTUBER LOGAN PAUL

If Floyd Mayweather Jr, widely known as “Money”, is not bragging about his rightfully acquired wealth, he will make buzz by taunting other boxers. After a war of words on social media, Mayweather stepped into the ring to fight Logan Paul on June 6, 2021. The fight was a special moment to many boxing fans as they didn’t expect the YouTuber to go a full-eight round distance. Many in the boxing community expected Mayweather to knock out his opponent with much ease. The fight is said to have sold more than one million pay-per-view tickets.

3. KOBE BRYANT DIES IN A HORRIFYING HELICOPTER CRASH

The untimely and shocking death of NBA legend and one of the greats, Kobe Bryant, send shockwaves globally. On January 26, 2020, Kobe died along with his daughter Gianna and seven other occupants. The NBA fraternity was left devastated by his sudden death, and messages of condolences and tributes were sent from all walks of life. Kobe Bryant and his family friends were attending his daughter’s basketball match.

4. TIGER WOODS SURPRISING MASTERS TRIUMPH

Tiger Woods has had a stellar career as a golfer, winning memorable tournaments. But after an eleven years hiatus surrounded by a lot of controversies, on April 14, 2019, he clinched his 15th major trophy overall. Tiger beat Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele by one stroke. He went on to become the 2nd oldest golfer after Jack Nicklaus to ever clinch the Masters.

5. ALEX OVECHKIN WINS THE STANLEY CUP

After the long wait, Alex Ovechkin finally won the Stanley Cup on June 7, 2018, with the Washington Capitals of the NHL. After an outstanding career in ice hockey and dominating scoreboards and MVP seasons, his dreams come true, and he brought the much-coveted title to DC.

6. LIVERPOOL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMEBACK

Liverpool FC is a fantastic club with a huge following. But its champion’s league comebacks have cemented the clubs status among the best. They had lost the first leg to Barcelona 3-0, but on March 7, 2019, they needed a 4-0 victory to become a finalist. The second leg left many in amusement as they defeated their opponents with a 4-0 margin and a 4-3 aggregate. They went on to win the champions league after defeating Tottenham. I hope you still remember their memorable comeback against AC Milan too?

7. SERENA WILLIAMS AND NAOMI OSAKA CHAOTIC ENCOUNTER

Serena Williams is a tennis legend and an inspiration to many women. The 2018 US Open final was a great day to remember. She lost to Naomi Osaka, a defining moment that felt like an actual change gracing the sport.

Unfortunately, the event was overpowered by tennis enthusiasts’ fandom as they booed umpire Carlos Ramos for penalizing Serena. Osaka was left in tears after the win, but Serena was there to embrace the young tennis star.

8. ODELL BECKHAM JR. BECOMES A LEGEND

Odell Beckham Jr. was destined to become great in NFL from the start. But he became a legend by making that catch of the decade. You remember. On November 23, 2014, he defied the odds by making an epic catch with one hand. He only managed to place three fingers on the ball-a moment to cherish every day if you are an NFL fan.

Today, Sergio Aguero may be an FC Barcelona player, but many will remember his time at Manchester City and his stoppage-time stunner. On May 13, 2012, Manchester City went on to become premier league cup winners since 1968. To many football fans, Aguero’s last-minute dazzling goal remains vivid in their memories to date. 10. RONDA ROUSEY PUTS WOMEN MIXED MARTIAL ARTS ON THE MAP

Ronda Rousey is quite popular today as the first female fighter to be signed by UFC. However, she has done more for women’s mixed martial arts sports. Most importantly, she can be credited for boosting the popularity of women’s mixed martial arts. On March 3, 2012, she defeated Miesha Tate and claimed an armbar cementing her status among the best women in MMA history.
