Carl Nassib a Las Vegas defensive end is the first active player in the NFL to openly come out as gay last week. Nassib stood tall in his first match with the Raiders in a nail biting 32-27 victory with the Baltimore Ravens at Allegiant Stadium – getting a powerful strip sack on QB Lamar Jackson after full time. That sack preceded the game winning touchdown to Zay Zones catching a 31 yard pass.
Nassib told reporters ‘”Had a lot of people come before me in the LGBTQ community that helped me get to where I am. I’m super thankful for that. I can’t wait to get to Pittsburgh next week and keep this thing going.”‘
The 28 year old played with three other teams in his five year career in the NFL before recently coming out in a video on instagram.
